The Sunfresh Story

Sunfresh Linen is a family business, first founded in 1998 when the George Family bought a small, existing laundry in Ipswich, Queensland (Light Industries Laundry).

Light Industries Laundry had been established since the 1960s but was somewhat rundown when it was purchased by the George Family. It was time for an overhaul. Thanks to energized new owners, and the experience of the existing staff, “Sunfresh Linen” was born.

Over the years, through hard work and dedication, the business grew and in 2006 the factory at Ipswich went through a major equipment upgrade. New sorting, washing and ironing machines were installed to increase productivity.  The commercial laundry was now a modern facility.

In 2009, Sunfresh Linen acquired a second factory.  This was a fantastic opportunity for the business to grow but proved challenging as the operation now spanned over two sites.

A decision was made to move both factories to one central site at Darra, Queensland.  The new factory could house the current equipment, had the potential to house new, advanced equipment and could also handle future growth.

By March 2010 the Darra factory was fully operational and the old sites decommissioned. Sunfresh Linen offers laundry and linen services in and around Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.

When designing the Darra factory, great consideration was given to water and environmental planning, in order to produce a best practice facility. State of the art plant and equipment was installed so as to provide Sunfresh Linen with an edge in both production costs and quality.

Sunfresh Linen offers a total management solution, giving its customers peace of mind - all linen and laundry needs can be met by the one linen service, which still has the feel and contact of a family business.
